Act Details
We are the Courtney sisters, Claire, Noeleen, and Caroline. Claire lives in Newcastle Co. Down, Noeleen lives in Doohamlet and Caroline lives in Lackafin, Broomfield. We decided to participate in GAAgglebox in memory of our brother Eamonn who passed away in June 2022 at the age of 57. Eamonn had a real passion for Blackhill club and would attend all their games and would photograph the action on and off the field. Eamonn enjoyed the social side of the club and made many friends down through the years and before Covid hit he enjoyed the bingo nights that were held there.
All three of us girls played soccer for the Blackhill lady's team back in the day and won many tournaments. We were a team to be reckoned with at the time. We also had a band called the Courtney Sisters and played in the local pubs in Castleblayney. (our main opposition there was the BOGMEN)
We have two nephews playing with the senior team at the moment and wanted to support them also. My mother has to split her support between Blackhill, Donaghmoyne, Doohamlet and Castleblayney Faughs as she has grandsons playing on all of these teams. we wish the Blackhill Club and team every success in the coming year.
